This was the main output from a project commissioned by emda and delivered by TBAT consultants for the benefit of Local Authorities and Local Enterprise Partnerships in the East Midlands, ie. those who took over the responsibility for economic development following the Government's decision to close down England's Regional Development Agencies in 2010. The research included the following areas: 1. Research and strategy projects 2. Low Carbon Skills projects 3. Business support projects 4. Renewable and Low Carbon Technologies Projects 5. Coordination and Management Projects 6. What works, what doesn’t The document also describes the dissemination activity undertaken by emda to ensure that this legacy of knowledge is not lost. The research papers from each of the projects can be accessed from Nottingham Trent University's Institutional Repository, via a search at www.ntu.ac.uk/llr/resources_collections/irep/ Skills Programme, Low Carbon Economy 2013-03-26T10:11:25+00:00 Climate Week 2013 http://www.climate-em.org.uk/resources/item/climate-week-2013/ http://www.climate-em.org.uk/resources/item/climate-week-2013/#When:19:07:06Z Photos from events in Climate Week 2013 supported by Climate East Midlands: Community Climate Change Conference, Derbyshire Eco-Centre, 9/3/2013 2013-03-09T19:07:06+00:00 Health and Wellbeing in a Changing Climate http://www.climate-em.org.uk/resources/item/health-and-wellbeing-in-a-changing-climate/ http://www.climate-em.org.uk/resources/item/health-and-wellbeing-in-a-changing-climate/#When:10:26:14Z Resources from workshop event The downloadable resources below are from the East Midlands workshop that took place on 1st March 2013 in Nottingham, designed for members of the new Health and Wellbeing Boards and the organisations and individuals that support them. This was one of eight such events across England organised by Climate UK in association with the Environment Agency. The Nottingham event was hosted by Climate East Midlands and the East Midlands NHS Sustainable Development Network. The Event Report contains all the speaker presentations (in 6 slides per page Handout format), discussion notes, evaluation comments and results of an interactive exercise. If you wish to see any of the presentations in more detail, these can be downloaded separately (1 slide per page) below. Some of the headline health impacts of climate change for the East Midlands are included in Climate East MIdlands summary of the UK Climate Change Risk Asessment, below. It provides practical guidance, free workshops, case studies, awards and stimulates discussion about how to manage increasingly frequent extreme weather events through business continuity, risk management, health and safety and climate projections. It was commissioned by the Environment Agency (Midlands) and delivered in partnership with Sustainability West Midlands, Staffordshire Business Environment Network, Business in the Community, local authorities, Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) and businesses who are kindly hosting events. The project is described here in more detail. The summary programme of 12 business workshops (Nov 2012 - April 2013) across East and West Midlands can be downloaded here.
