As a result, the Carbon Trust have developed, and are developing, a number of resources for schools around energy efficiency and carbon reduction. Business Resilience Healthcheck
This ‘Business Resilience Healthcheck’ has been developed by Business in the Community North East to help make your business more resilient to the risks it will face both now, and in the future.
Completing this healthcheck will allow you to:
- Become more resilient to interruptions that your business faces every day.
- Identify areas within your business that could be impacted from extreme weather and future climate change.
- Offer advice on how you can adapt to prepare for a changing climate.
- Upon completion, you will receive a bespoke report outlining the actions your business should address; colour coded for risk and prioritisation purposes.

Making Feed In Tariffs work for you: a toolkit for Local Authorities and Housing Associations
The Energy Saving Trust has developed some new guidance on Feed In Tariffs.
This provides a range of information on:
- what FITs are
- solar PV
- the benefits and business case for a PV roll out
- finance models (including SW sunroofs case study)
- a step-by-step guide to making a project happen
- risk assessment
- procurement issues
It also includes a new FIT calculator for looking at carbon and financial savings for a large scale PV roll out. This guidance follows on from the four FIT events that have been held across England.

Preparing for the Carbon Reduction Commitment
EM IEP has funded the subscription to the London Energy Project (LEP) guide and toolkit ‘Preparing for the Carbon Reduction Commitment’. It is available to all East Midlands local authorities, fire authorities and the Peak District National Park. Subscribers have access to this and to regular updates on changes to the CRC scheme.

Adaptation Risk Assessment Methodology
This toolkit includes a detailed guide to the risk assessment methodology developed and used in the East Midlands to assess risks from climate change to Local Authority services, LSP partners, and LSP objectives. You can download a selection of templates to help you record your risk assessment data, and minimise any danger of reinventing the wheel! All that we ask is that you acknowledge the source.
