Low Carbon Economy research

The document below contains a summary of all the Low Carbon Economy research undertaken by East Midlands Development Agency (emda) prior to its closure in 2011, in support of the Regional Economic Strategy. This was the main output from a project commissioned by emda and delivered by TBAT consultants for the benefit of Local Authorities and Local Enterprise Partnerships in the East Midlands, ie. those who took over the responsibility for economic development following the Government's decision to close down England's Regional Development Agencies in 2010.

The research included the following areas:

1. Research and strategy projects
2. Low Carbon Skills projects
3. Business support projects
4. Renewable and Low Carbon Technologies Projects
5. Coordination and Management Projects
6. What works, what doesn’t

The document also describes the dissemination activity undertaken by emda to ensure that this legacy of knowledge is not lost.

The research papers from each of the projects can be accessed from Nottingham Trent University's Institutional Repository, via a search at www.ntu.ac.uk/llr/resources_collections/irep/
