Making Feed In Tariffs work for you: a toolkit for Local Authorities and Housing Associations
The Energy Saving Trust has developed some new guidance on Feed In Tariffs.
This provides a range of information on:
- what FITs are
- solar PV
- the benefits and business case for a PV roll out
- finance models (including SW sunroofs case study)
- a step-by-step guide to making a project happen
- risk assessment
- procurement issues
It also includes a new FIT calculator for looking at carbon and financial savings for a large scale PV roll out. This guidance follows on from the four FIT events that have been held across England.

The development and adoption of a sustainable timber procurement policy
This case study has been published by the North East Improvement and Efficiency Partnership, The Central Point of Expertise for Timber Procurement (CPET), and Durham County Council.
From the introduction:
"The purpose of this case study is to describe the development of a local authority sustainable timber procurement policy and the progress made to date in its implementation. This policy developed is the first local authority policy which is consistent with the UK Government national policy on timber procurement."

Adapting Through Natural Interventions project report
Final report (May 2010) of the Adapting Through Natural Interventions project delivered for Climate East Midlands by consultants Aecom. This literature review considered how the natural environment can help us adapt to a changing climate and also incorporated a scoping study for a decision making tool to help quantify the socio-economic benefits of different kinds of natural environment interventions.
