Background to the event
The idea for this conference was mooted some time ago, following a region-wide project with schools and local authorities in 2011-12. The project was called SCoRE (Schools Collaboration on Resource Efficiency) and was initiated and funded by Climate East Midlands and delivered in association with the Carbon Trust and Briar Asociates. The 9 participating local authorities recruited 80 pilot schools who experimented with a range of simple no-cost and low-cost measures to reduce energy and carbon. The results were encouraging and demonstrated that schools could save between 8 and 27% on their energy bills. Explore the resources developed by the project, including an entertaining video made by Nottingham City Council about their experiences.
