East Midlands Adaptation Resource

Background
In order to develop the capacity of the East Midlands to adapt to climate change, Climate East Midlands is developing an Adaptation Resource consisting of an evidence base and tools.

The East Midlands Adaptation Resource draws together, interprets and signposts a wide range of adaptation materials relevant to the East Midlands. It also includes several tools to help users navigate through the information and take action on adaptation.

The Adaptation Resource will help to engage wider stakeholders from the private and voluntary sectors, as well as supporting on-going work by the public sector.

The plans for the Adaptation Resource were developed in consultation with the Climate East Midlands Management Group, the Climate East Midlands Adaptation Sub-Group, and the Planning to Adapt project Local Authority partners.

Aims
The Adaptation Resource draws together, interprets, signposts and synthesises a wide range of adaptation materials, to make them easier to access and navigate through. The tools will help users to understand how climate change will impact on them, and how they can take action to adapt.

The Adaptation Resource covers the ground since “The Potential Impacts of Climate Change in the East Midlands” Scoping Study in 2000, bringing it up to date in a way that is more accessible and interactive than the original technical report.

Outputs
The Adaptation Resource is available now, on the Climate East Midlands website. Work is on-going to develop it further.
