Climate Just

Climate Just is an online tool designed to help public service providers identify who is most socially vulnerable to the impacts of climate change and extreme weather, why that is, where they are and what can be done to make a difference. It is a partnership project being managed by Climate East Midlands for Climate UK on behalf of the Joseph Rowntree Foundation, with other partners including the University of Manchester and the Environment Agency. The tool draws on academic research carried out for JRF into social vulnerability and climate change and makes this more accessible for users. It also includes a mapping tool that can be used to look at local areas in detail with different data layers that highlight different aspects of social vulnerability and exposure to hazards like flooding. It was launched on 4th February 2015.
