The eight recipients of the Climate East Midlands Community Skills grant (to help grow Climate Friendly Communities) are:

- St Matthews Community Solutions Centre, Leicester
- Greening Beeston, Nottinghamshire
- Newstead Enterprise, Nottinghamshire
- Transition West Bridgford, Nottinghamshire
- Oundle Transition Town Group, Northamptonshire

Newstead Earth Centre
A new Earth Centre is being built out of recycled tyres at Newstead and Annesley Country Park. Their grant is for the creation of a reedbed sewage system for the new centre.
