Home Events Resilient Highways, 18th July 2013
A Local Highways and Climate Resilience event comes to the East Midlands on the morning of 18th July at the University of Derby's Enterprise Centre. Aimed at local authority Highways Managers and all those engaged in the management, maintenance and development of the local highways network, this half day workshop aims to raise awareness of the issues, share experiences and risk assessment and management approaches.
This is part of of a national programme organised by Climate UK in association with the Environment Agency, ADEPT, Department for Transport and CIHT across England during summer 2013. Local highways have been identified as a critical area for adaptation nationally within the Government's forthcoming National Adaptation Programme.
Speakers from the Department of Transport, Environment Agency, ADEPT and professional institutes will provide a mixture of presentations and opportunities for discussion. Places are available free of charge to local authority elected members, service managers and officers from highways engineering, maintenance, street services, strategic planning, regeneration, environment and sustainability.
