Growing Low Carbon Sector conference, 6 Nov
Home Events Growing Low Carbon Sector conference, 6 Nov
Climate East Midlands is very pleased to be supporting CleanTech Business and Cambridge Cleantech with a forthcoming conference entitled 'Growing a Local Low Carbon Employment and Business Sector' on 6th November at the Nottingham Conference Centre. This sector accounted for a third of the UK's economic growth in 2011 and employs over 900,000 people. The conference aims to explore how a local area like Nottingham can capture more of the 'green collar' jobs that are expected to emerge in the next few years.
There are good signs already, with the Nottingham Clean Tech Centre business incubator nearly full of new companies and a £49m investment by Chinook Energy in the Nottingham Energy Park.
The Local Enterprise Partnmership D2N2 will use the occasion to launch their Low Carbon Plan - this was announced yesterday by LEP Chief Executive David Ralph at a Sustainability Summit at the University of Nottingham organised by Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce.
