HomeEventsClimate Just training, Nottingham, 16 December 2015

Two free training sessions, at introductory and intermediate level, are being run on Wednesday 16th December on the use of the new Climate Just webtool. The training is aimed at public service providers, including local authorities, housing associations, health and care providers and is designed to help them get the most from Climate Just, which was developed by Climate UK on behalf of the Joseph Rowntree Foundation, in association with the University of Manchester and the Environment Agency.

The website enables such organisations to understand who, in their local area, is most socially vulnerable to the impacts of the changing climate and includes a powerful mapping tool to help identify which neighbourhoods may be at high risk from flooding or overheating. Lots of additional resources are also provided to help organisations decide what action may need to be taken in response to the findings, including detailed evidence and data.

The training is being provided by Climate UK and is supported by the Environment Agency's Climate Ready service. The event is being hosted by the School of Geography at the University of Nottingham..

The introductory session runs from 9.30 - 12.30 and the intermediate session runs from 1.30 - 4.30 on 16th December.
