Climate UK and the Environment Agency's Climate Ready service are hosting a series of half-day events in the autumn of 2014 to launch a new suite of resources that will support the crucial role Planning plays in delivering a resilient and well adapted built environment.

Events are being held around the country, and the East Midlands event is being organised by Climate East Midlands.

When: Thursday 18th September (10am-1pm, concluding with lunch)

Where: Pera, Nottingham Road, Melton Mowbray, LE13 0PB

The event will:

  • Bring stakeholders up to date with the latest developments on guidance, statutory drivers and wider activity delivered by Climate Ready.
  • Disseminate new and updated resources developed from the recent Climate Change Skills programme for Planners and Developers.
  • Illustrate local good practice in action and strategic plans to increase resilience in the built environment.

David Singleton of DSA Environment + Design Ltd will present a local case study focusing on sustainable drainage systems and discuss how policy around SuDS is changing.

Who is the event for?
The event will be suitable for Planners, Building Control, Housing and Economic Development Officers and Developers looking to consolidate their knowledge of statutory drivers, planning policy, costs of adaptation, neighbourhood planning, building adaptations and green infrastructure.
